Filabé: 100% vegan skincare!
Vegan nutrition and body care are trendy. More and more people want to reduce their meat consumption or even completely avoid animal ingredients in all consumer goods and use vegan cosmetics. Good news for vegans: Filabé does not contain any raw materials of animal origin, nor have we ever commissioned animal testing.
Meat in cosmetics — is that really possible?
Have you ever heard of sausage lotion? We hadn't either. Consumers don't think much about whether there is something animal in their face cream, and rightly so. After all, no manufacturer advertises on the packaging that amniotic fluid from slaughtered animals is floating in the jar.
Manufacturers therefore avoid declaring it explicitly. That's why we're often surprised when «vegan» is written on a cosmetic package. Isn't that a matter of course? Apparently not! But what are the criteria for vegan beauty products? And where does it contain animal ingredients?
Animal-friendly effect? Vegan cosmetics!
You can find substances of animal origin in many hygiene products: creams, lotions, peelings, shower gels, shampoo, mouthwash, aftershave, perfumes, make-up, etc. «Allantoin», for example, is a breakdown product of mammalian uric acid (which, by the way, also occurs in the plant variant in wheat or soy seedlings) and can be found in hand creams. Mink oil is obtained from the subcutaneous fatty tissue of the mink. It is used in shampoos and creams because it is said to make skin and hair smooth.
The packaging may say «Mink Oil» or «Mustela Oil», which deliberately makes it difficult to immediately identify the mink oil. The suspicion arises that such frightening ingredients are supposed to work better than plant-based or synthetically produced substances.
In reality, cosmetics manufacturers use leftovers from slaughterhouses because they cost less, not because they are superior in effect. Accordingly, it is a matter of personal conviction as to what we allow on our skin.
Tip: On the PETA website, you will find a list of animal ingredients in care products.
Vegan facial care ritual
There are now many care products that are truly vegan — especially make-up products, soaps and creams. But be aware: natural or organic cosmetics are not automatically vegan. The vegan market has few facial care lines to offer. Most vegans therefore put together their own care system.
The classic care program is: cotton pads, make-up remover, peeling, tonic, serum and moisturizer. But there is a more efficient and even cheaper way to create your own vegan cosmetics — Filabé replaces all these products with a (vegan) cloth.
Innovative peeling and plant-based active ingredients
If you like to treat your skin with high-quality cosmetics and value natural ingredients and products that are not tested on animals, then Filabé is for you. The facial care cloths cleanse the face thoroughly thanks to their special surface structure.
Our technology is based on cloths with millions of fiber parts that carry billions of active ingredients. The extreme number of fibers and their ramifications enable the cloths to carry active ingredients.
The fiber mesh, like a fishing net with tiny meshes, removes impurities from the skin, trapping the «skin waste» (and make-up) in it. The skin is optimally prepared for the absorption of active ingredients. The natural ingredients are integrated into the wipe in dry form and are activated in contact with water.
As you massage your face with Filabé, the active ingredients are released from the material and massaged into the skin in high concentrations. Our ingredients are completely pure and all the ingredients are vegan.
Made in Switzerland
The patented manufacturing process for our cloths, which are produced in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, is a world first. The invention reduces the extensive facial care system to a single step. This saves the skin — and the waste water from additives such as alcohol, fragrances and preservatives.
Our cloths have not been tested on animals, but on humans. The test result of the company Dermatest is: «very good», which proves how well tolerated Filabé products are by human skin, without the need to use animals.
P.S.: All Filabé products are vegan:
