Blocks
Irritated, sensitive Skin
Inflammatory redness of the skin is usually caused by pathogens (such as bacteria) on the skin.
Dry skin usually produces too little sebum or the sebum is too viscous. This causes too much moisture to evaporate, damaging the skin barrier. This is why fine cracks can form, allowing pathogens easy access. This makes the skin sensitive and leads to redness or even inflammation.
In oily skin types, pores can easily become blocked, causing bacteria to collect in the blocked pores. This can then lead to inflamed spots.
